The Brockton Census Needs 300 More "Census Takers"

*Apply: Be 18 or older and a U.S. citizen ~ Have a valid Social Security number ~ Be able to pass a background check ~
~ Complete a written, 30-minute, multiple-choice test ~
Also needed: Residents who are fluent in English and another language.
~ Have a valid driver's license (and use of a vehicle) ~

*Feb. 6th - Saturday: A One-Day, All-Day Census Job Fair
Where: Brockton High School - Green Building, 2nd Floor
Sign up or walk in for testing: 9:00am- 3:00pm.

In 2000, the Census counted 94,304 people in Brockton.

It is the law for everyone in the U.S. to be counted every 10 years
The states with the most people get the most federal money
Districts in the states (Brockton: 9th) change by population
for a representative in Congress (now: Congressman Lynch)

Receive a letter from the U.S. Census Bureau telling you:
'Your Census-2010 questionnaire will arrive in a few days.'
Receive a U.S. Census questionnaire in the mail or by delivery;
Receive a postcard: 'Remember to return your questionnaire now.'
Residents mail their questionnaires back to the Census

APRIL

CENSUS DAY: APRIL 1st
